Outdoor family photos at the field (which is in the heart of Edmonton on the south-central side) take place in the last hour and half or so before sunset. Here’s my must-have list for a family portrait session:
The family (mom, dad, and kiddos)
Mom with kids
Dad with kids
Siblings together
Kids individually
Mom and dad (who often haven’t had a portrait together since their wedding!)
Within these combinations there will be multiple groupings, angles and backgrounds used to create a variety of images. I will always include images of your family looking at the camera and smiling, but that is never my main focus. The images that make my heart sing are the ones of you laughing and cuddling and interacting – the ones that show authentic connection and joy and love.
