If you’re waiting “until it gets nice outside” to schedule your outdoor family portrait session, take a sec and think about what “nice out” actually means. Sure, spring in Edmonton is more about brown, gray and gold than green, and it’s sometimes a little muddy, but there are so many amazing things that make spring the perfect time for family photos.
- It’s brown, gray and gold at the field… I know I just said that, but those neutral colours make an gorgeous background (especially if you throw in some yummy light!) and this is so much more my jam than all the green that we get in the summer!
2. This is a great time of year to take advantage of having a sunset session with gorgeous light that doesn’t have to happen at 9:00pm; as the days start getting longer, the start time for sessions will get later and later. If you have littles, NOW is the time to book for outside.
3. There are no mosquitoes yet.
4. Getting outside with your family and appreciating the warmer weather after the longest winter ever (it seemed like it, anyway) is so much fun!
Within the next two weeks, once the snow melts completely and it has a chance to dry out a bit, the field is going to be perfect for spring sessions. Take a scroll through this gorgeous spring session from last year and then get in touch to snag one of the remaining sunset spots in my calendar!
