This family session from last spring took place in this family’s beautiful backyard, out near St Albert. It was the perfect evening amidst weeks of rain. There was SO MUCH LOVE present and I was honoured to capture it for this sweet family. I don’t want to go into great detail regarding the circumstances surrounding this session, but a member of this family is battling cancer and was about to start chemotherapy treatments. It was so important to them all to have images in their great outdoor space, incorporating the buildings and structures that they had built. I am so grateful that they trusted me to deliver these images.
Eldest daughter Abby, who was in charge of contacting me and arranging the session, had these lovely things to say about their experience:
“We wanted casual and unstructured pictures. We were hoping to capture everyone’s personalities and natural expressions. The experience was better than expected and we were very happy to receive natural poses and expressions. We were also hoping to get a lot of photos from the session and you gave us many great quality photos. The price for the photos were also very reasonable for the number of photos that we received.
We were hesitant about the time of year and that there wasn’t any green yet. It turned that the colors blended beautifully with the natural lighting and scenery and didn’t take away from us in the photos. (Because) …we were rushed to have the pictures taken and felt unsure about the outfits to wear, it was very helpful to have your input into the outfits and how they would work together. Although it was so rushed and stressful under the circumstances your calm, easy going and cheerful nature made all the difference. It made the experience fun. We are extremely happy with how the session turned out.”
