If you don’t know where to begin planning a session that will result in images that you love, check these out:
3 Tips for a Perfect Maternity Session
A professional photographer will know how to style, pose, and use light to make you look your absolute best.
Make sure that you love their style: there are so many options out there! Do you love studio maternity or would you prefer something outside? Or is an in-home lifestyle session for you?
Light and airy with a neutral palette? Boho chic? Vibrant colours? Belly boudoir? Make sure that you love your photographer’s style to ensure you get images you love.
2. Timing
Plan to have your session between 28-34 weeks.
It’s important to schedule while your tummy is nice and round, but before you feel too uncomfortable. This timeline will vary for every mama depending on how you’re carrying; if you’re having multiples or if you’ve grown a bit more rapidly schedule your session earlier.
3. Get Pampered
If possible, plan to have a mani and pedi (your hands on your belly will definitely be a focus in your images).
I also highly recommend getting your hair and make-up professionally done for your session: it makes such a huge difference in the final images and helps you feel confident and gorgeous.
If you’re expecting in 2021, I’d love to chat with you about a session featuring your glowing self and your beautiful bump!
